he wont be good in ufc (in the cage) but, he would be better in a real life combat. probably better than some of the ufc athlete.

I wonder how good he would do in UFC...

he was always around 135lb - he would lose some speed if he had bulked up to 155lb (which he could have).

You have to remember that Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do is a science for real life combat and not a sport like MMA. JKD is NOT simply mixed martial arts, all the techniques have been tested for efficiency. Other martial artists should take note of these techniques to develop their own fighting.

I would advice to learn Jeet Kune Do. Be sure to look for instructors who teach the original jeet kune do and NOT jeet kune do concepts.

Yeah, if I'd have to choose from those, I'd take Wing Chun. Even better if it isn't too traditional.WC is a martial art that suits well for everyone since it doesn't rely much on strenght or size.

Wing Chun all the way, Wushu, is a bit too traditional, ask them if they teach more combative wing chun or classical...

Would someone please advise me on which martial art classes to take? There are two major martial arts centers near my home, but not sure which one to go to. One center teaches WUSHU & WING CHUNG (seperately), and the second place teaches CHOY LI FUT. I'm a 45 year old man in excellent shape, but I'm a small man physically...5'5" and 140 pounds with thin bones. I would like to become physically and mentally "tougher" so I could defend myself and my family if I had to. Thank You. |
