Thanks a lot! But I'm guessing in the space between getting armour you train you body and learn the customs? True?

No equipment when you first begin. Just bring a good attitude and an open mind! You will be asked to buy a shinai later (a mere $25)... Armor does not come for a long time!

Hey, I'm wondering, what equipment do you need when you begin kendo?
sicnor553 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
I've been doing kendo for 2 months now and this obviosuly amazes me. The shinai looks like toothpicks in their hands!!! Lots of suburi, I'm guessing :)
