Her biggest hit was "The Tennessee Waltz", which was also released in 1950. "The Tennessee Waltz" was #1 for thirteen weeks in 1950 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P... by Redd Stewart and Pee Wee King in 1947, popularized by Patti Page and by Les Paul and Mary Ford in 1950-------------------------I was waltzing with my darlin' to the Tennesse waltzwhen an old friend I happened to see.I introduced him to my loved one,and while they were waltzingmy friend stole my sweet-heart from me.I remember the night and the Tennessee waltz. Now I know just how much I have lost.Yes I lost my little darlin' the nightthey were playing the beautiful Tennessee waltz.I was waltzing with my darlin' to the Tennesse waltzwhen an old friend I happened to see.I introduced him to my loved one,and while they were waltzingmy friend stole my sweet-heart from me.I remember the night and the Tennessee waltz. Now I know just how much I have lost.Yes I lost my little darlin' the nightthey were playing the beautiful Tennessee waltz.

When I was young, this song was so popular and Patti Page was an icon. Thanks for posting the video; I'd forgotten how beautiful she was and what a great voice she had way back in the 1950s.

This is the first song I remember hearing, I was two or three years old. Listing on our old 1947 Fords radio. Singing the words with my parents.

I always thought that this song was originally meant to be sung by a male, because of the lyrics "...I lost my little darlin'..." Those sound like words that a male would use to describe a female. Not the other way around.

Oops. Eva Cassidy is right up there too.

Very nice. Actually, I had Patsy Cline in second place (behind Alma Cogan), but Patti Page deserves to be there too. Ha ha. Just making fun. But seriously, Alma Cogan's upbeat version I like best. The Patti Page/Patsy Cline versions are best as slower tempo.
