There are many things in this video that I can agree with. Unfortunately, it was written by a monkey, and as such, contains loads and loads of incredibly stupid bullshit to go along with the good stuff. I'm sure Ernest Cline, being a monkey, is only dimly aware of the irony. The notion that nature is a beautiful thing in which all of its species (except monkeys) get along and live in harmony and are simply happy is some of the most deluded quasi intellectual bullshit possible.

But obviously it is a weakness as well as a strength. I mean, the cheetah is built for speed... and speed alone. It's its strength in one aspect but weakness in others. Get what I'm saying? It's like the video implies, animals are animals no matter what they do or how they do it.

Naaah, you got it slightly wrong. We made that stuff. That IS our strength - we're imaginative. Like the chimp who uses a stick to get ants, we use all sorts of things to collect everything we could possibly need for survival, including making up for our baldness (thus our weakness to exposure), lack of adequate claws/teeth (thus our inability to defend ourselves), and other obvious stuff. Granted, we've become too reliant on our inventions, especially the uneccessary ones, but nerd animals rule
