Ah, the New Math. Fun times in elementary school. If I remember correctly we had problems in base 8, base 2, base 5 and base 20, all of which are completely useless. Not surprisingly I went into the humanities :)

me neither...this is complicated...we just use base 10.

Just like base 10 (aka the decimal system) but wherein the value of the digits are based on powers of eight rather than powers of ten.
