Taxpayers are going under. Austerity and restructure are not something the American people are ready to digest. That fact in itself could cause a crash in the socio-economic fabric (It probably will in my view).

It is sad to see, but this lecture affirms the rationale why I am changing the focus of my law practice from estate planning (helping the wealthy avoid federal estate taxes) to bankruptcy and helping people get a fresh start. Perhaps we can examine ways to reduce our slavery to the almighty FICO credit score. If the govt could back mortgages with the monthly note being a percentage (say 35-40%) of one's verified income, then we could heal the housing market. Until then, I will be very busy.
