Honestly, how many perfectly good black Pontiac Trans-Ams did they destroy making this show? I noticed that later in the series they started using models over real cars for a lot of the stunts, probably because of the cost of wrecking a car. I remember Hasselhoff did an interview once where he recalled that the effects team used disposable black body shell covers to absorb bullet hits and other damage, and could be removed and easily discarded. But for the jumps? Real cars, real damage.
