It is not ignorant to say that Russell Malone is known for playing with Diana Krall. He DID get more exposure for playing with her and being on her Grammy-nominated and Grammy-Winning albums. Russell actually won the Downbeat Guitarist of the Year for 1999 (or thereabouts), the year he left Diana Krall.Kandie Webster in Washington State ~~ jazzylover59

It is also an interesting fact that Diana Krall did not get nominated for a Grammy until Russell started recording with her -- three consecutive albums -- the third one, "When I Look In Your Eyes" won for 1999 Vocal Jazz Album, and was the first jazz album to be nominated for Album of The Year since George Benson's "Breezin." Might I suggest (for those who have never heard) the Live at Jazz Standards 1 and 2 albums. Some of the best live jazz guitar work ever.

He only uses 2 fingers on his right hand! Strong right hand! And what a beautiful sound.

Anthony Wilson was already nominated for a Grammy long before he hooked up with Diana Krall. But anyway...I wish Russell Malone would release a solo jazz guitar album of just this kind of stuff. What a magnificent musician!

Its kind of ignorant to say that Russell Malone is known for playing with Diana Krall. The only guitarist that got famous that way is Anthony Wilson.
