i still thing the smiths performance of this song is much better

Once upon a time I thought those two had a thing for one another just because one idolized the other. Morrisey was influenced by Sandi and Sandi covered his songs. It's just interesting how how one could take a good song and add a little spice on it to make it better.

This is my favourite smiths song and Sandie more than does it justice. Thanks for putting this up there.

I agree. Anything they do to together musically is sure to come out nothing better then perfect

I love this song so much. I first heard it when I was 18 and it is so so so beautiful. The anguish of a broken relationship. Who couldn't relate to such poignancy in life. So simple. So perfectly rendered by Morrissey's words and Shaw's fantastic voice.

better than the smith's version

Immense! Sung with passion and verve. Sandie is a megastar and the Smiths are da bomb. What a contrast to 'You don't bring me flowers' by Streisand and Diamond (qv) who are/were just a pair of cynical, grasping old hacks! |
