I get tired of people avoiding revealing the meaning of something just to make it seem more deep. What I really think this is about is "pushing ideas"as has been more or less admitted, but I think specifically religious ideas especially. Emo asking Proog how he expects him to live his life based on something that isn't there is a dead giveaway. I suppose, given the controversial topic, I can forgive the creators for not outright explaining it for what it is.

Theory: I think Proog is Windows and Emo is Linux, both traversing the internet together. Proog has spent lots of time learning how not to click the wrong link that will get him infected, while Emo has gotten used to surfing care-free, because the dangers aren't targeting him. Why should he be as cautious as a Windows user must be? He has no security problems and no secrets hidden from him. Proog, on the other hand, has to dodge danger constantly, treading carefully and precisely at all times.

The title comes from an expression elephant in the room meaning an obvious truth being ignored.I don't really get the storyline, maybe it's about someone pushing their ideas on another person or somethin

I think the movie is about people trying to push their ideas onto others. proog (the old man) sees something that emo obviously can't see and he is trying to force emo to see it.

It's one of those short films that is open to interpretation. You kinda have to decide what it means to you.

I think that there are many ways to look at this and there is no need to be a philosopher. There are two ways I can see this. One is how we can never satisfy everyone to make them like us. We see how the old man tried to defend and protect emo and at the end Emos ends up detesting the man. The other way to see this is that everyone has a different view of a utopian society. The old man perfers loneliness and darkness while Emo likes music and livelyness. |
