i've been to prague this year...its truely a nice place. i was hoping to c tomas verner at that time. i wondered where he lives.

I have never seen him so smooth and calm. This is his best progam of whole career: great music, costume, movements and interpretation. so sad, that by nervousness he didn't performanced it at Worlds as he showed in Euros-that'd definitely be medal.

i was so sad after seeing his performance at worlds! his sp was FANTASTIC!! by far the best i've seen in years, and then he like self-destructed. it was esp. sad after seeing how well he did it here. better luck next yr tomas!

I listened again closely and he did actually mess up and say "the first one since... 1986". oh well, no biggie (unless you're a Petr Barna fan ;)).and I agree with your observation that the British commentators love Tomas. they seem to be more like fans of pure skating and don't get as obsessed with quads as the American commentators.

No, he actually didn't forget, he said "the first one" as in "the first gold medal which Josef Sabovcik won in 1986".

Perhaps he did...but anyway, he's a big fan of Tomas(at least this is my opinion after hearing this year's commentary and last year's too)

At the start the silly commentator said that Tomas was trying to be the first Czech skater to win Europeans since Josef Sabovcik in 1986. Has he forgotten about Petr Barna winning in 1992?
