Comparing Ms. Sills to Ms. Callas is like comparing oranges to apples. you can't compare them

Bastianini is my favorite verdian baritone! He's a perfect Germont and his Rodrigo(Don Carlo) is unmatched in my opinion. As for Sills, well,I'm not a big fan of her although I very much respect her commitment.

Virginia Zeani is now posted in her brilliant unrehearsed, emergency Covent Garden debut. Sills is very charming but, by contrast, Zeani is high octane dramatic, made all the more exciting by the extraordinary circumstances. Do listen.

Ce role lui va comme un gant, un des plus grand Germont avec Tibbet bien sur.Ettore repose en paix.

Bastianini rocks. But Sills? What have they eaten on her? Her voice is nothing. Or have I heard to much Callas?

This is grand indeed. great singers. Many years ago I saw a movie titled "The Lost one" with Nellie Corradi Indeed this was I think in the 1950's Does anyone remember it ? Is on u tube or available on CD. Fond memories for a 80 year old viewer.
