It's funny that our gov't actually did just the opposite and lowered the BMI value defining overweight from 27 to the current 25 kg/m2. The CDC(P) even reported that overweight (25-29.9) had the lowest mortality rates and healthcare costs. Seems normal weight folks should gain some poundage to get healthier...right? Or, do statistics only work one way?Does the obesity epidemic have anything to do with heart disease mortality rates decreasing?
