It was like this when I went to Paris back in 1990. We had rude waiters, but my folks were blunt with them, so it was okay (don't smile, whatever you do).When a ticket clerk at the Louvre wouldn't sell us advance tickets, she gave a hard look and said "just give them to me." She had to do it again to get her change.We found another way to piss off the French. My Dad had a trucker cap with CAT DEISEL POWER on it. It was like having the word TOURIST written all over you.
