Britain's John Stafford Smith wrote this song specifically for the British.. yanks borrow and have lyrics which open with British phrase "Oh say"Everything you stated was factual (if the date was correct).. thats completely irrelevant. Ths British played this their song written for them outside Buckingham Palace with no yank lyrics (that opens with British phrase)

That isn't entirely true - John Stafford Smith wrote invented the tune in 1778 as Anacreontic Song - a British drinking tune. But Francis Scott Key was in fact born in America to American parents and wrote these lyrics while on board a royal navy ship (he was a diplomat who the navy refused to release fearingthat he would tell the Americans what their tactics were. He looked outside the window and saw fort McHenry being oblitarated by British forces; nothing was left but the American flag.

I dont understand how people are saying that America is steeling other peoples culture when that was the point of America it was and still is a melting pot of cultures that brought their countries ideas with them its no secret.
