of course they dropped the bombs (plural : Nagasaki and Hiroshima) because the fanatic Japanese army wouldnt have surrendered. But that`s not the point man. The point is, that the Nuke is a incredible cruel weapon and it`s not sure if it would have taken more lifes to conquer Japan the "normal " way.

WE had to drop the A-bomb on Japan because they would not surrender...im no marine or military person but i think i know history...if we had never dropped the bomb who knows what could have happened...you obviously talk behind a computer, having no idea what your talking about...so what if Bush fucked up our economy or destroyed the government you probably cant go a better job....
