matter and light define the visible universe, and i'd have to consider anything else "nothing" because well space is the absence of matter, which is nothing. but if you want to include "space" into the universe then no, i don't believe in the expansion of the universe because its infinitely nothing. no beginning, no end.

I agree. Space is nothing, right? So the universe would technically have to end where the last bit of matter is in every possible direction, which would make it much easier to say that the universe is expanding because it is matter that is traveling in one direction (expanding) and not nothingness expanding upon more nothingness. Light has already reached nothingness, but nothingness cannot pick up light. And well i don't believe there can be an end nor a beginning to nothing.
