they are very different from filter. lesspop oriented, quite some 70s sound in there. the first album is great. the second was a let down to me.

yeah i heard about these fellers through a mike vennart interview, and i reckon they are a smidgen like filter. but better. well less gay (as in 'happy clappy', before im called a homophobe :O )

they sound talented but the singer sounds monotone kind of boring

yeah, the other bands you mentioned are quite well known over here in blighty but i'm sick of being met with blank stares when i mention amplifier to anybody. they're too good to be ignored.

why can i not buy their songs off of itunes?

Its a shame that here in the US, this band is virtually ignored along with Oceansize, Biffy Clyro, the Boxer Rebellion, Doves and a host of others (Muse and Editors being somewhat of an exception). Instead, we get the endless parade of Gang of Four, New-Wave revival " i started a riot" type bands that MTV tries to shove down our throat. That stuff is cool, dont get me wrong, but its a crime that original music such as this gets barely a notice in our country.

The exact same thing happened to me quite some time ago when they played in Zürich. I love the band, but it the sound made it quite unlistenable there :/

I just saw them at a club in Zurich, but I would have liked to choke the soundman. Guitar and vocals where mostly lost in a wash. That's really sad, 'cause the band played really interesting songs from the upcoming album. In the meantime I'll keep listening to their music and hope for a live cd/dvd. The best band in rock universe!
