I think Bryn lets it down at the start.

I'm with you, babs22h. Renee has a fabulous voice, but absolutely no soul in this song. Now...I'm not trying to be like one of those negative posters, so I would like to say that I do appreciate you posting this here. It's just disappointing to be that Renee has to turn the song from something that has that much soul and power into a chance to show off her voice. I mean, her voice is stellar, but the high C at the end is completely unnecessary and should be relegated to vocalises, not this.

yick....this version will have to grow on me... renee though a fabulous singer is devoid of ...well....soul.... which is probably why audra mcdonald sang this song on broadway and won tonys for her performance. but yeah the ending was nice i guess...not really music theqater so much as wannabe opera diva finish but...okay...since i like renee..3 out of 5

This is actually a better version than the one on the C.D.

FABULOUS SINGING! Nothing in the throat or even close to the nose! That´s singing ;-)

You're right -- you can do both. A lot is the difference in diction. Broadway and pop are more colloquial. In an interview, Bryn Terfel said if he was going to do Broadway he wanted to do it right, so he studied with a Broadway coach. Rene Fleming said she used to sing with big bands. Nice job!

I hear you Renee! Hit that high note at the end, girl! Alright now!

Two of the most beautiful voices of today together. This is wonderful. Thank you.
