stcrzy,Where in either of your last two posts is my answer to my simple question? Is it logical to point to one part of a book, written centuries ago from verbal tradition, and say "this is 100% true," then point to another and say "this is 100% opposite of what is written?"Very simple question. Are you truly afraid to answer it?

tevis,no problem...I think I've rarely, if ever, lost my cool in this entire thread. My huge problem is getting stcrzy to settle on any one approach to his argument and stick to that logic. Skim back a few hundred comments and you'll see his approach.

Mike if you think I pick and choose, finding the bad only and reporting judgeing on it. Then Ditto! you find the "happy meal" metaphors in the bible and build your life around it. But, the bible is not good for humanity. Its full of the very rage it perpetuates with revenge slaughter, judgement, hate. This is not God speaking in any form!

Mike! Would you love, trust, believe in a being that says, love your enemy as you love yourself, but kill the boys, men, women, keep the virgins for yourselves, turn the other cheek? but kill the infants suckling? No this is extreme emotional discharge in both directions. If you ara a mediator in a dispute do you go to extremes in either direction? No, you find middle ground and find compromise. You do not kill babies! Gods creative energy does not change! The bible is not the voice of God!

Hey Mike. Anxious to here from you. We may be on the same side here (after reading your previous texts.) i kinda jumped the gun on u, perhaps. Exactly what was the "original" question?
tevis56k (August 26, 2008 at 11:10 am)
Hey Mike....I'm still agape too! Talk to me here. Let's have a serious debate. Must say, u caught my interest; let's talk!

Hate to blow your cool Mike, but are we talking doctrinated "religion" or Christianity" here? I notice you mentioned both in the same comment. To answer your question, "in terms of "killing as part of a religious observavation", what about the burning of "witches at the stake"? Do u believe that was justifiable? Just curious to your take on that.

First, may I say, "CALM DOWN" agapemike. Hey Mike, I'm agape too. The definition of logic is truly an issue. Let me assure u, logic does not exist in this case. Take a deep breath and feel good about yourself. Don't take this clown seriously, (even if himself does) . We know better ....Right? let's just pray for his dumb ass instead....(if you'll pardon my incorrect speech please?)..It's the only way to keep everyone happy!..... Live and let live!

So do I take your response as avoiding the question?I repeat: is it logical to point to one part of the bilbe, written centuries ago from verbal tradition, and say "this is 100% true," then point to another and say "this is 100% opposite of what is written?"I'm trying to find your definition of logic. Remember that you just talked about avoiding questions.I repeat, is it logical to say "this is true" and "this is opposite" when analyzing ancient texts?Straight answer, please. |
