Today, four decades since its founding by Jann Wenner, the Rolling Stone record reviews section is regarded by many sources as still one of the most influential around. LOL!

I always thought Steve Perry was incredible and nobody could come close to replacing him. but I gotta say, if you like Journey, check out their new singer. Arnel Pineda is about as close to Perry as God could ever create.

Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Steve #76 on 100 greatest singers of all time list BEHIND the likes of Axl Rose, Freddie Mercury, kurt cobain, and bruce springstein!Well, you cant really argue with that, can you?LOL!

Journey's ultimate masterepiece ballad. Steve Perry sang it like no one else can duplicate. One of the best ultimate ballads of the 80's and of all-time.

I believe you mic, although I don't agree with it. R.Stone, nor the critics ever liked JRNY/SP. SP's arrival in JRNY marked the end of an era for them as everyone knew it...a vastly different sound. He wasn't embraced by anyone, even the band(at 1st),hence the VH1 comment. I believe the spot he's claimed in music history was an even harder battle to win than AP's is now. He did it though. Hopefully, RStone will be a little easier on AP. They've only had 30yrs to get used to the idea. |
