Occupation? Were the French not occupiers of Lebanon and Syria and wasn't approved by the world body at that time? There is nothing intrinsically wrong with occupation. Did not the French occupation serve to create the modern states of Syria and Lebanon out of the old Ottoman Empire? Regardless we can see now how artificial one of the countries created was, namely Lebanon.

you apparently have no idea what eye for an eye means if you look at the Torah did Joshua slay a proportionate number of Canaanites to the amount of Israelite warriors killed? No they were commanded to wipe them out, men women children and animals. Eye for an eye is a legal principle practiced in court not on the battlefield.
