Oh, yes, Metropolis is a masterpiece!BTW notice one thing: in Metropolis the final confrontation takes place in the cathedral, Maria is ringing bells, etc. :)

Great film. I used to have it on DVD till a house break in :(Beautiful music, and silent films are really able to stir the emotions at times (Metropolis anyone?)

This soundless movies were just begging for subliminal advertising. I wouldn't be surprised if Quasimodo said "JOIN THE NAVY" once or twice.

It is not, it is based on the novel. The Disney version is from the novel. Cool right :)

the movies are magnificent, such as the oldest like these, the disney one is classical as well, as are the many musical performances of it. Yet if u truly want to see the tale of Notre Dame u must read the book, the original tale of its legend and beauty, what started it all, beginning with a mere gaze at the cathedral.
