The song is mostly about an artist who can't find love and mostly, everyone refuses his love and can't see things in his eyes. So he commits suicide, but still, no one understands except one person, someone whom truly loved him. That's part of the song, but also in my point of view. Very wonderful, yet sad song.

so he committed suicide?sorry my teacher just told me thats why i searched for this song and its very beautiful.i dont know the story because i wasnt yet born back then.and is it true that no one buys his paintings until he died and this song was created?i red it on someone's comment here.i mean he didnt half to die before his paintings were recognized because they were so beatiful i just can believe it

jarrie1235... thats not van gogh's life. he led a very hard life, and he did marry a prostitute, but he left her. he was mentally ill, he had epilepsy so he went into an epileptic fit later in life he cut off his ear, giving it to his favorite prostitute at the time. he had trouble with love, he loved his paintings but they didnt love him back. he went to two mental institutions, and at the second one he had another fit and went into a depressive state and shot himself, he died two days later.

there's a story about dis song... vincent had a wife... that betrayed him. he didn't knew... until he found out, then his wife told to the people that he's insane... so he suffered... becuse all the people think that he's crazy, insane like his wife told to them. until he cuts his ears, because he didn't want to here the gossips about him. no one believes in him. then he told to his self that he doesn't belong to the world. because he don't desrve about what had happend to him. sad story :(
