I disagree this is very amateur move in the start up position on ur 1st screen if white was greedy for pieces he'd 1st capture the queenside knight when you go for his bishop you've lost centre cause he'll take ur kings pawn.sum1 correct me if im wrong

I'we seen many games where black lost because of this pawn taken on e4... One variation would be like 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nc6 4. 0-0 Ne4 5. d4 ed4 6. Re1 d5 7. c4 dc38. Nc3 with a great position to white...
Walgekaaren (August 11, 2008 at 11:54 am)
This variation you sugest is a bit odd coas white will castle after Nc6.If the Knight would take the pawn on e4 then white simply would play d4and afterwards moves the rook to e1 threttening to take the knight. Even if black doesnt take the d4 pawn the game will be rip open and white would launch a massive attack, because black hasnt castled and his peaces are not well arranged.

lol no bs my friend tryed to trap me a bit like that

Definitely blocks the pawn from being attacked but doesn't save the knight from going down. Thanks for checking out the vid!

At 1:45 when you're doing the "beautiful check", white could block with knight to C3, and that move prevents the queen, after taking the E5 horse, to take the B7 pawn, now THAT is the best move for white (according to me)! |
