The word 'awesome' is overused these days. These locos are, however, without doubt...AWESOME!!!!

Having watched countless train videos on YouTube, I dare to say this is the very best. That said, it makes me kind of sad - I'll never have the chance to see one of these magnificent locomotives pulling a train.

Excellent historical references! NelsonArtWorks has some really fine B&O prints and you can also get them directly from the B&O Railroad Museum too. There is also an original watercolor painting for sale of an EM-1, 2-8-8-0 Articulated Locomotive!

"1st youll have all the environmentalists breathing down your neck trying to stop you."Surely that's one of the best reasons do do it! I love upsetting greenies!I'm hosting "Int'nl Carbon Day" soon...burn a ton of coal!

personaly i dont see the differnece. & besides the fact that only a small handfull still exist(8), none in working order. to restore them, manufacturing parts, and build more turntables and wyes, not to mention building several new bigboys with modern technology and have them use fuel oil, instead of coal could creat several thousand jobs for a few years untill they are completed and transfer the people to manufacture new parts, fix rail lines or service the trains. so what you say makes sence.
