I agree co-habitation is a good thing. IMO you don't really know somebody or know how compatible you are with them until you have lived together so I think people who plan on marrying should live together first.

critter110 - when my parent's were young I could have agreed wit a lot about what you say - but marriage is now so easy to get out of - it is only property settlement issues and wanting to "stay together for the kids" that makes marriage "permanent" in any sense. You no longer even have to show cause for a divorce nowadays...

What's to like about co-habitation? It's just another symptom of a culture that celebrates a lack of personal responsibility and sticking to your word. Sure it's easier to split from than a marriage, but marriages aren't meant to be broken with the ease that some people glide from one to the next. Marriage takes effort and a strong commitment, co-habitation replaces that with a free and easy atmosphere of leaving as soon as it pleases. I'm sure this won't be a popular sentiment- okay by me.

personally i see it's benefits, it's better than having to go through a divorce, you can get away quicker. Although like judge judy says it's harder to split things.

true that, but i hate it when they think everybody on a benefit is a lazy scrounger or whatever, some people genuinely do need benefits. The people that are lazy and do this make me angry cause they make everyone look bad.

...and so is England, benefit fraud in the UK is sky rocketing.

America is a great land of opportunity but it's the country that is abused the most..

She really hates co-habiting before (or instead of) marrying - doesn't she?
