Listen to the Raveonettes, a Danish band. They are heavily influenced by Jesus and the Mary Chain and they're really good.

The Mary Chain IS a great band. But actually there are quite a few bands like them around today, because they were very influential. Try the Raveonettes or BRMC. And of course, JAMC themselves are back together and touring as well. Saw them night before last and they were better live than ever.
