Actually gigsix, EVH did reinvent the electric gtr (Frank Zappa, in fact, thanked him for doing just that). Take it from me, in early '78 rock gtr was DEAD. It was all tired old blues based phrases or inaccessible fusion. Then along came Eddie and the whole rock thing burst into life again.

You have gotta be kidding? Eddie is great but Yngwie wipes his ass with peavey guitars. No contest between the two. You may wanna take another listen.

Dudes that can do power slides and touch their back to the ground while doing a solo set on stage are way more fun to watch and listen to than the Kenny G type guitar players of the rock world. I like Steve Vai, and Malstreem, but the clown in Eddie reigns over them on the gnar factor...

Hey, anyone who`s talking about how genius or great musician Eddie is. hmpf... don`t make me laugh guys. this eddie is obviusly a poor musician(and as a result, he got nothing to do with being genius), but obviously a great fretwanker. I know, you`re gonna say he invented tapping(so what? he didn`t invent guitar playin`). but he`s totally overrated. he`s being just a fuckin` clown on stage. it`s ridiculous!
